New Series: Men of WIBA

WIBA Online is back and better than ever as we enter another semester/co-op placement! We are introducing a new series to our blog; "Men of WIBA", where we introduce active male participants within Dalhousie University's Women in Business Association. Read on to hear from our first "man of WIBA"!

Stefan Wippel:

"When I think about women in leadership, I think of equal opportunity. There are many important women in my life that I want to see progress and succeed with the same opportunities that are available to myself. I recently listened to a panel regarding women thriving in the tech industry. A message brought forth in the panel, which applies to all industries, is selecting the best candidate for the job regardless of their sex. This topic of discussion is one that I believe should never be overlooked. A company should always look to create a diverse product. An important first step towards creating a diverse product is creating a diverse team. Having both men and women in leadership positions and diversifying the workplace should be a priority for all organizations. For multiple generations we have made significant progress towards creating an ultimately diverse work environment, but there is always room for improvement. The best way to encourage change is to create conversation and bring awareness to outstanding issues."
